Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments and Intersex.
Why use MOGAI?
MOGAI (mo-guy) is much easier to pronounce and remember than LGBQTA
Another pro of the MOGAI acronym is that it is much more inclusive than LGBQTA. By using "Marginalized Orientations" rather then listing every sexuality by letter it becomes much more inclusive by nature, and makes it impossible to forget any sexualities. Many people don't actually know what the letters in LGBQTA stand for, and so it's usually appropriated by straight Allies. Allies are important, however if a person is hetronormative (cisgendered heterosexual) they don't belong in the acronym. Allies usually take over the A, which actually stands for Asexual (and the Asexual Spectrum) or Aromantic.
The MOGAI acronym is also more inclusive for the genders and intersex, where as in the LGBQTA acronym it is limited to Transgender. Many non-gender-conforming individuals do not identify themselves as transgender.
